Planning Trip to New Mexico
September 30, 2007
For the past week, I’ve been getting geeked up for our upcoming trip to the “Land of Enchantment.”
Sarah and I are headed off to Santa Fe for a few days in October. We’re planning to hike, enjoy the cool mountain air, enjoy some tasty New Mexican cuisine, and perhaps go on a mt. bike ride.
At an altitude of nearly 9,000 feet, any hiking or running we’ll be doing is going to be lung-busting. And from what I’ve read, Santa Fe has plenty of trails right near the heart of town.
Plus, we’ll have to take a day trip up to Taos. Sounds like the Adobe Bar is a fantastic place to eat and the margaritas are supposed to be out of this world.
I’ll have a full report when we return. We don’t leave for another couple of weeks!

Got something to say?

Hi,
Happy Oct. 1. I’m trying to think who’s birthday it is so I can celebrate for them?
do you want the address of the property in Taos to check out?
I’ve intended to write the property tax people there again to see if there are any parcels whose owners are in arrears on tax payments. I’ll bet some land there could be bought for back taxes, or for a fraction of back taxes, for that mater.
I did check one year; the year that Mom died and they sent me a packet listing propertys like ours, that owners had not kept up on taxes. Most owners were from the East; New York, New Jersey, etc. like we were. I think they probably died or had just forgotten about their property. Anyway, I think alot of them could have been had for a mimimal offer nad just promising to pay taxes in the future.
I had to go to S.C. or I would have gone to Taos for that September date to try to aquire some more land.
Our taxes are just $5.00 per year after all!
Later.
Love, Dad
