Argh!!!!! @#%$^& Suns

My team is out. The Suns squandered a TON of opportunities in a must-win game, and all I got was a hoarse throat.
Now the NBA rumor mill is spinning full-tilt. Will Mike D’Antoni be back to coach next year? What about Leandro Barbosa? Raja Bell?
It’s going to be a long, crazy summer. What? Am I supposed to start looking forward to Cardinals games? Sorry. I’m not ready to drink that Kool-Aid yet.
Still, I am a WSU fan/grad — talk about a hard luck team to root for — maybe I’m a glutton for punishment.

before you get so wrapped up in your fear of failing, remember this:
- Michael Jordan was cut from his high school basketball team
- J.K. Rowling’s first Harry Potter book was rejected 12 times before it was published
- It took Thomas Edison 1,000 tries to invent the lightbulb
Trying (and failing) is part of the process. You have to be tough, look on the bright side, and be willing to make mistakes.
How dare I say that.
So dust off those New Year’s resolutions, unfold that list of dreams you’re now using for a coaster, and start doing.
This article from the Wall Street Journal got me all fired up. Have your own tale to tell? Share it in the comments.

“Those” were yet another round of weird lights over Phoenix. The original infamous incident happened back in 1997.
A ton of people saw those lights. Last night, a similar incident happened where hundreds, possibly thousands of people, saw lights for approximately 10-13 minutes in the sky north of Phoenix.

Behold, the Iron Cookie. The reason for going 140.6 miles straight without stopping — only for a scant pee-break. Last year, my sister — aka chef extraordinaire — made a batch of M-dot cookies for us for completing our first Ironman.
This year, after the race, Sarah (my fiance) asked: “Is your sister going to make us cookies?” And my sister Sarah did not disappoint. A few cookies cracked during transport, but hey, every Ironman has cracks in the armor — we’re human. Not superheroes. Like that other guy.

One of the most vivid memories from my childhood is the day my grandfather taught me how to tie a hook on a fishing line.
I can’t tell you just how old I was. But I was old enough to listen; and my instructor was a man I loved dearly.
Ironman AZ 2008 Race Report

Race morning came much more relaxed this year. Being my second foray at the Ironman distance, I felt like I kind of, sort of, knew what I was doing. I felt like I had some key issues solved, and I resolved that my race, perhaps my last Ironman, would be vastly different from my first attempt.
